Memoirs of a Swaledale Woman

  • Keld Resource Centre Keld Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL11 6LJ (map)

In 1984, Maggie-Jo Chapman, a local Swaledale resident, was interviewed.  She described what life was like growing up on a remove hill farm on Oxnop Pass in the early 1900s.  She also told the interviewer about her school days and her home life, including farming, cheesemaking and haytiming.  The talk will be given in her own words, to give an added personal connection to Maggie-Jo.

Afternoon teas will be served afterwards.
