In the Footsteps of Ella Pontefract

  • Keld Resource Centre (map)

Join this great walk discovering Swaledale's beauty and heritage.

Lots to see in a walk that packs in Swaledale's beauty and heritage. We follow a walk taken by Ella Pontefract and Marie Hartley in their book 'Swaledale'. We will stop along the way for readings from the book. Weather permitting, there will be an optional visit to Swinnergill Kirk: waterfall, cave and place of non-conformist worship. We will return via the rope bridge over the river Swale.

Please bring a packed lunch and drinking water
Difficulty: moderate (some steep gradients and narrow paths)

Dogs welcome on a lead
