Astronomer Richard Darn is staging our first ever star party in the ultra dark village of Keld. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed to see shooting stars burning up. This is the most reliable shower of its kind and we will be out just a couple of days after its peak. Early on the first quarter moon is also well placed and we'll turn our telescopes to view its deep craters and high mountains and we'll even encourage you to take a picture with your smartphone. We may even show you Mars and together with a tour of the lovely winter constellations it will be a night to remember. But we'll start with a colourful talk to set the scene in the resource centre and also enjoy warm refreshments and mince pies.
Note: this event has been postponed from 15 December 2018 to 26 January 2019 due to bad weather forecast on the original date.
