In the 1930s Ella and Marie travelled throughout Swaledale and grew to love the landscape, people and traditions of the dale. Local professional photographer Ian Short presents his photographic interpretation of Ella and Marie’s writings on Swaledale, a dale as cherished today as in the earlier 20th Century.
