Meet outside the Keld Countryside and Heritage Centre

A gentle stroll of approx 2.5 miles to discover the source of the Swale.  Car required for the short drive to Hoggarths Bridge.  A pleasant walk through the meadows to the confluence of Birkdale & Sleddale becks - the official source of the Swale.  Strong footwear required or wellington boots if you wish to ford the Swale.  Children welcome.  This walk is through fields with livestock; dogs must be on a lead at all times.
