In the Footsteps of Ella Pontefract

This guided walk will take you in the footsteps of Ella Pontefract and Mary Hartley with extracts from their book Swaledale. Sites to be visited include Crackpot Hall, Swinnergill and Hartlakes. Weather permitting there will be the option to visit Swinnergill Kirk cave and waterfall. Led by experienced volunteer David Pemberton.

The day starts at 1030 at the Upper Room, Keld Resource Centre, where tea and coffee will be served and there will be an opportunity to listen to the recent BBC Radio 4 programme 'Alice of Crackpot Hall', based on Ella Pontefract's contemporary accounts.  The walk departs at 1100 - please bring a packed lunch.  Dogs welcome but should be kept on a lead.
